What Can I Put in the Bucket?

  • Food Scraps - YES!

Anything you didn’t eat, except the meat.

We’re talkin’ all your fruit, all your veg, breads, grains, eggs and dairy, sweet treats, human hair, coffee grounds…

Just no meat or bone…yet. In the near future we will be able to process meats and related material for hot composting. For now, stick to non-animal foods.

  • Paper & Cardboard - YES!

Too many bills in the mail? Throw ‘em in the bucket!

Suspicious of your local recycling program? Gimme those pizza boxes!

That fancy restaurant downtown gave you a “compostable” take-out box? Let’s see if it’s true!

  • Yard Waste - YES!

You can’t shove that much yard waste into a bucket, but I appreciate the top offs. Saw dust, leaves, branches, unwanted flowers from Karl - all good.

And, if you want to slowly drive your neighbor to madness by “disappearing” a few handfuls of mulch each week…I won’t tell.

  • Poop - NO!

No poops! No dog poop, no cat poop.

    No mammalian poop in general.

Seriously, no poop. Lookin’ at you, Karl.

  • Plastics - NO!

This one is kind of a doi.

Cool kids are vigilant about those little fruit stickers.

  • Other inorganic material - NO!

No metals, glass, rocks, rubber, silicone, styrofoam, textiles, car parts, bleach, electronics, vinyl records, prosthetics, asbestos, trampoline parts, boat hulls, cursed amulets, etc.
